- Egg Roll Wrappers: You can find egg roll wrappers in the refrigerated section of your local grocery store.

Steps to Make Baked Apple Pie Egg Rolls
This tasty apple dessert comes together relatively easily with two basic steps – prepare the filling and roll into egg rolls for baking!
- Prepare the pie filling. Cook the peeled and diced Granny Smith apples, water, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and cornstarch over medium-high heat until thickened and the apples are soft. Stir in the vanilla.
- Layer filling into egg rolls. Spoon some of the apple mixture into an egg roll wrapper. Fold up the sides of the wrapper and roll tightly. Repeat with the remaining egg rolls.
- Bake the egg rolls. Place the egg rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, seam side down. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes and then brush each egg roll with melted butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and bake for an additional 5 minutes. They should be slightly golden brown after baking.
- Cool the egg rolls for 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Be very careful because the filling is hot!
To make these in the AIR FRYER, spray the rolls with cooking spray instead of brushing with butter. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, flipping once while cooking.
Cinnamon Whipped Cream Topping
To make cinnamon whipped cream, whisk whipping cream on high speed until soft peaks form. Add cinnamon, vanilla and powdered sugar. Continue whisking until stiff peaks form.
Serve the whipped cream with the easy apple pie egg rolls for the the ultimate dessert.
Expert Tips
- Substitute the filling with canned apple pie filling. While the homemade apple pie filling comes together quickly and easily, if you’re in a hurry, you can use canned apple pie filling.
- Do not overfill the egg rolls. You should have enough filling for 8 egg rolls. Do not overfill or the rolls may break.
- The filling may leak out of the rolls. Some of the juices from the apple pie filling may leak out of the rolls. This is okay.
- Serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Drizzle with homemade caramel sauce. For even more fall flavors, drizzle these egg rolls with caramel sauce.

How do you store these? air tight container on the counter top-or refrigerator?
These are best when eaten immediately, however you can store them in the refrigerator for another day or so. Enjoy!
Hello. I see you can make the filling ahead of time. I want to make them this weekend. Is it possible to also make the egg rolls on Saturday and then cook them Sunday? Thank you
I would recommend making the filling on Saturday and then wrapping them and baking them on Sunday. You can try assembling them completely in advance but uncooked egg rolls don’t usually hold up well, especially with apple filling, so I don’t recommend that. But, the wrapping process only takes about 10 minutes so it should still save you time if you prepare the filling in advance. Let me know how they turn out. Enjoy!
I made these over the weekend, and they were so delicious! The perfect fall dessert!
These are such a great flavor combination and a totally unexpected filling! My girls love these!
Love how easy and delicious this recipe is. It’s perfect for a gathering or a party.
Such fun and easy recipe that my kid loved! Itโs perfect for movie night!ย
I made a double recipe and my husband hated them. He did not like the texture with the egg roll wrappers. I think if I had fried them they would have better but then, not as healthy. I guess I’ll just stick with pie. Thanks for your recipe it was easy!
I would like to know how to make the egg roll wraps please.
Hi Susie! What specifically do you want to know? The recipe is listed above.
I’m going to make these this weekend. If I decide to freeze them, should I bake them first, or freeze and bake them when they come out of the freezer?
Hi, Angla! I would freeze them before baking. You may need to bake them for a few minutes longer, if frozen. Enjoy!
I made these and they came out great! If I’m making a bunch of these for Easter can I roll them early and freeze them, and then bake them later in the night when ready to serve or will they not come out the same? I’m not sure how egg rolls freeze.
Hi, Kate! Sorry I didn’t see this comment sooner. While I have never frozen this recipe myself, you can try to wrap them in aluminum foil, seal in a freezer-safe bag and freeze.
Thanks! I ended up putting a damp paper towel over them, and put them in the fridge for 12 hours. When I took them out before putting them in the oven I brushed them with some water just to help them from drying out. Worked great! Great recipe!
