How To Make a Watermelon Paloma

Step 1. Blend the fresh watermelon in a blender until it’s fully pureed. Strain through a strainer right into a pitcher to keep it nice and smooth. 

Step 2. Mix the paloma. To the pitcher with watermelon, add tequila, orange juice, lime juice, and sparkling water. Stir to fully incorporate. Add ice here or add it to individual glasses. 

Step 3. Assemble and garnish. Salt the rim of the glass using a lime and high quality sea salt. Pour in each glass and garnish with fresh lime wedges, watermelon and sprigs of mint.

  1. When choosing watermelon for this recipe, it’s important to make sure it’s sweet and ripe. You can adjust the level of sweetness by adding some sugar or more orange juice.

Ingredients 

  • 6 cups watermelon, diced
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 1/4 cups tequila
  • 1/3 cup lime juice
  • 3/4 cup sparkling water
  • Ice
  • Lime wedges, watermelon and mint for garnish
  • Salt to rim the glass

Instructions 

  • Add the watermelon to a blender and pulse until smooth. Strain into a pitcher.
  • Add the orange juice, tequila and lime juice and stir to incorporate. Add the ice.
  • Rub a lime wedge over the edge of the glass and dip in salt to rim the edge. Fill until ¾ full and top with the sparkling water.
  • Garnish with lime wedges, watermelon or mint sprigs and serve.
