Whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Cream together the butter, shortening, and sugar separately.

Add eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition. Add the lemon zest and juice, then mix.

Add a third of the flour mixture, followed by half of the milk. Repeat, then finish with the last third of the flour mixture and mix.
